Transporting an E-Bike shouldn’t be a hassle
At Ebike Couriers, we believe that transporting an electric bike should be a straightforward process. Based in Saltash, near Plymouth, we are a specialist courier service born from a passion for e-bikes and a commitment to doing things differently.
Ebike Couriers are a new company, founded in 2025 by Tony Tompkins, who has worked in the e-bike industry since 2016. During that time, Tony wasn’t just riding and reviewing electric bikes — he was also selling custom-built e-bikes on eBay, gaining firsthand experience of the challenges involved in shipping them. Damages during transit were a regular occurrence, and every time a bike left for a customer, there was a constant worry about whether it would arrive in one piece.
To make things trickier, some of the more traditional parcel companies were excluding electric bikes, due to their lithium batteries and weight. It became clear there was a major gap in the logistics market — a need for a specialist delivery service that truly understood how to handle e-bikes properly.
E-Bike Assembly on Delivery
Shipping an e-bike isn’t as simple as sending a parcel. It requires specialist knowledge, care, and handling — something few delivery companies could offer. Tony saw the problem firsthand and decided to solve it by combining his e-bike knowledge with his background in logistics — gained through running a motorcycle delivery business from 2009 to 2016.
Ebike Couriers is one of the few companies in the UK dedicated solely to the professional transport of electric bikes, cargo bikes, electric scooters, and motorcycles. But we don’t stop there — we offer an optional assembly service for customers who want their bike not just delivered, but ready to ride.
We carry the specialist tools needed for proper assembly — this can be especially useful for direct-to-consumer brands who ship bikes partially assembled. This saves customers the hassle of finding a bicycle mechanic and provides peace of mind that their bike has been assembled by someone who knows what they’re doing.
